Edmund B. Lingan is a nonfiction writer and occult historian. His work inhabits the realm in which occultism, ceremonial magic, witchcraft, and other esoteric impulses intersect with the daily life, performed reality, and embodied imagination of human beings.
Lingan is the author of Theatre of the Occult Revival: Alternative Spiritual Performance from 1875 to the Present (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), as well as several articles. He has presented his work at scholarly and esoteric conferences.
Through participatory field research, archival study, public speaking apparances, and non-fiction books and articles, Dr. Lingan reveals how occult and esoteric traditions manifest in the so-called “real world” through images, rituals, narratives, and performance.
